PARKINSON’S DISEASE

What is Parkinson’s Disease?

A complicated, progressive neurological condition, Parkinson’s Disease can impact an individual’s mobility in various different ways. It occurs when the cells in our brain stop producing dopamine impacting the way we coordinate our movement. Common symptoms are tremor, slowness, stiffness, walking and balance impairments.

Although it is a progressive disorder, continuing to move in new or different ways can assist in maintaining an individual’s independence as long as possible. Willow Health Physiotherapist Lindsay Brown can assist in the assessment, treatment and guidance through this challenging movement disorder.
