Marlene Maddocks earned a Bachelor of Social Work and Masters of Social Work from University of Western Ontario. She is a Registered Social Worker (M.S.W.) in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. With more than nine years of experience in various social work contexts, she is competent and experienced in providing counselling for prenatal and post-natal support; transition into parenthood; adult and children’s mental health; addictions; sexual and domestic violence; grief and loss.
Marlene began her career in social work providing counselling to women who had experienced sexual trauma. Through this she learned the strength and courage that these women exhibit in standing up to violence and finding their own journey to healing.
She has also worked in community settings providing counselling and case management services to individuals who had received a serious diagnosis of mental health. Both in voluntary and mandated social work settings, she has found the beautiful strength that individual’s demonstrate in their pursuit to create change and achieve happiness.
Marlene grew up in Sarnia, Ontario and now lives with her husband and two children in Chatham-Kent. Marlene has provided direct counselling to individuals and families predominantly in the London and St. Thomas area since 2009 and received both her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees from Western University.
Marlene is passionate in assisting individuals to use pre-existing skills, talents, abilities and competencies to spark positive change. She would be honoured to walk this journey of healing with you and respects your commitment to achieving emotional health.
